Father, husband, social worker, artist, Pokémon fan, avid reader and life-long learner
Shane is the father of two girls who share his creative spirit. He enjoys nurturing their passions and fostering their unique personalities. He is an avid movie-goer, he loves shopping for office supplies—especially pens! —and is a reader who will also dabble in a good docu-series, true crime and the latest podcasts on YouTube, Tik Tok and Discord. He loves all things Pokémon! Teaching others and learning as a student go hand in hand for Shane, and he is open to diverse opinions, ideas and populations.
Living with a degenerative visual impairment has given Shane unique insight into the importance of accessibility in mental health care. He is a strong advocate for telehealth therapy, online counseling, and virtual behavioral health services, championing their ability to remove barriers to care. Shane was interviewed by Columbus Monthly about the benefits of telehealth, emphasizing how virtual therapy supports clients in rural areas or individuals with mobility challenges who may not have easy access to traditional in-office counseling.
Shane is a fierce advocate for children who are experiencing family distress, helping children navigate parent separation or divorce while minimizing the effects on their mental health. Shane is especially adept when working with victimization and trauma endured throughout the lifespan. He enjoys counseling people struggling with anxiety, OCD, addiction/recovery, as well as Autism and Intellectual Disabilities.
Shane works with both children and adults and holds master’s degrees in both Social Work (from the University of Louisville) and Psychology (from Southern New Hampshire University, with a concentration in child development). He also holds a Post Master’s Certificate in Behavioral Analysis from the University of Cincinnati. He became a licensed social worker in 2012 and in 2025 received his Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor certificate. Shane works out of both the Fairborn and Springfield offices.
