Saidee Purcell

Daughter, counselor, cat-lover, nature enthusiast, LGBTQ+ advocate, and ukulele player

Saidee is person-centered in her practice, meaning that the client comes first. While working with families, she advocates for the child/teen while also supporting the caregiver in the process. She takes time to understand alternative perspectives and is open-minded to all individuals. Saidee has a passion towards trauma-informed care and uses modalities such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy to help children and adolescents explore adverse experiences and ways to heal from them. Saidee is empathic, warm, and creative. Often in sessions, she encourages the use of play therapy techniques, psychodrama and artistic activities.

Saidee is passionate about aiding communities who are oppressed and feel powerless. She has experience working closely with LGBTQ+ identities and hopes to work more with this community in work within Positive Perspectives. Saidee also enjoys using existentialism within counseling which helps adolescents to navigate life’s most difficult questions about purpose and meaning.

In her free time, she enjoys playing her ukulele, spending time in nature, meditating, and spoiling her cat, Ginger.

Saidee received her M.S.Ed. degree from the University of Dayton and is a licensed professional counselor. She has a passion towards working with children and families and looks forward to helping more clients at Positive Perspectives Inc. She is supervised by Emily Neely, LPCC-S, and has an office in Springfield but also works out of the Fairborn office on Thursdays and Fridays.

Thank you for visiting Rachel's Page! She was loved and she will be remembered.
