Rosemary Shin

Counselor, sister, dancer, cat and dog adorer, fan of pop music, and lover of Korean food

Rosemary Shin believes that every person deserves a place where they can simply be themselves. She values creativity, humor, and the mind-body connection, recognizing that healing often involves both understanding our stories and learning to listen to what our bodies have been carrying.

Rosemary developed her passion for counseling through her own healing journey. She has practiced dance since she was a young child, having found a safe haven of self-expression when the world around her continued to change. Rosemary has lived in five different states throughout her life, being the daughter of a veteran and a minister. Her grandfather’s experience as a Korean immigrant helped her to foster a deep appreciation for resilience and multiculturalism.

Developmental and trauma-informed principles guide Rosemary’s counseling work. She also uses techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She enjoys helping clients to explore relational patterns, values, identities, and adaptive coping, empowering clients to build meaningful change. Some of her favorite referrals include complex trauma, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationships, neurodivergency, and addiction.

Rosemary earned her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2025. She is supervised by Deanna Markesteyn, LPCC-S and works out of the Springfield office, seeing teens ages 16+ and adults.
