Jordan Thurman

Wife, mother, social worker, board game enthusiast, Cricut engineer and shameless wannabe dancer.

Jordan was raised by her grandparents in Southern Ohio and isn’t sure if she’s an only or the youngest, since her brother is 14 years older than she! She has been married eight years and has a 3-year-old son. She tries to keep it real and genuine and enjoys a sense of humor. She is a nonjudgmental and open counselor and tries to be intentional in each session, modeling some of the skills she teaches. She is both empathetic to the difficulties inherent in change while being keen to witness strengths and the amount of progress clients have accomplished.

Jordan has a genuine passion for working with women, especially new moms. She is also a strong advocate for the LGBTQIA+ population and is often involved in trauma work with her clients. Her clients and colleagues all note her friendly and humorous demeanor; she loves to “explain the why” behind what happens in our bodies and minds. She is a can-do counselor who is full of ideas and resources.

Jordan is competent to treat depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, including OCD, PTSD, including religious trauma, life transitions, parenting concerns, and grief, including perinatal and infancy loss. She can treat children as well as adults.

Jordan received her master’s degree in Social Work from Asbury University in 2013 and is a licensed independent social worker with a supervisory designation. She is primarily a Telehealth provider and does in-person counseling out of the Springfield office. Jordan typically sees clients age 12 years old and up but does see ages 8 – 11 years old on a case-by-case basis. Some of her favorite referrals include Trauma, Perinatal Mental Health, LGBTQIA+, Depression/Anxiety, EMDR.
