Father, husband, couples counselor extraordinaire, lover of sun, sand and dogs, Fan of superheroes, movies and fanatic of “a galaxy far, far, away”
Jason Curtis brings a steady, grounded presence to his work as a second-career therapist—shaped by decades of diverse life experience, deep curiosity, and a long history of service to others. The youngest of three brothers (one of whom joined the family when Jason was 16), he has been married for 24 years and is the proud parent of two adult children, ages 20 and 22. A lifelong learner, Jason believes there is no such thing as a wasted day if you learn something—even if it’s small, unexpected, or a little random. Outside the therapy room, he enjoys movies, reading, and intentionally avoids social media to stay grounded and present.
Before becoming a marriage and family therapist, Jason spent 20 years serving as a firefighter and paramedic. That experience deeply shaped his respect for first responders, veterans, and anyone carrying the cumulative weight of trauma, crisis, and chronic stress. He welcomes referrals from individuals navigating depression, anxiety, grief, or trauma, and brings particular understanding to those on the front lines.
As a family man, Jason has a strong passion for working with couples who want to improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen their connection. He works with individuals, couples, and families in Springfield and Fairborn, Ohio, and integrates faith into counseling when it is meaningful and requested. Jason is a Christian who continues to grow in his faith, which thoughtfully informs his approach to Christian counseling.
At the heart of Jason’s work is the belief that people can grow when given insight, compassion, and practical tools. He meets clients where they are, drawing from CBT, DBT, the Gottman Method, and trauma-informed approaches including EMDR, IFS, and Somatic Therapy to offer care that is effective, grounded, and compassionate.
Jason graduated from Liberty University and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, supervised by Eileen Potter, LPCC, IMFT-S. He currently provides in-person counseling services at the Springfield and Fairborn offices. His favorite referrals are couples and individuals ready to work on depression, anxiety and grief symptoms.
